Nevertheless, we still could set up an advisory thread as to which (preferably constantly monitored) 3rd party hosts are viable for linking. While net neutrality was killed for the moment, there are other issues to think about. The most grievous one is lack of knowledge on the side of hosts. This is to mean hiring a freelancer or in-house IT guy, who works for shady elements on the side, if they aren't one themselves. Ever since search engines became a thing, content spammers became virulent (offering sexual fetish content search terms when there's none), redirects for scams and/or Russian hackers, and the newest fad, coin mining. To avoid such situations, I defer myself personally from sites like VKontakte and others alleged of phishing, and use a script blocker to disable redirects my internet security doesn't catch.

It's of course on Santa's wish list to get Hostboard to edit threads everywhere the same way the sexfight board can, much like the creation of a mobile version of the site, so that uncomfortable situations can't arise in the genius bar.
